1853 First Wesleyan Chapel
1874Leased chapel for school - 50 pupils
1875Tenders for separate school (wood building) situated 20 chains east of chapel.  School No. 1313
1892Mark Thomas gazetted as J.P.
1895Mark Thomas pioneer fruit grower of Newington - onions also prolific crop
1899Newington School moved to Wallington
