Point Henry: Street Names

The following history of street names is reproduced from the Investigator with the kind permission of W. J. (Bill) Morrow and the Geelong Historical Society. Note : please remember that the Investigator began more than 30 years ago, therefore some names and buildings have since disappeared into history.

Buckley Grove This street runs through Pleasant Bank Estate, Point Henry - Frank BUCKLEY was one of the auctioneers. An earlier owner of the property was William WALKER, of horse omnibus fame.
Wills Crescent Fittingly this crescent near "Bellevue" on the Geelong-Portarlington Road is named after Horatio Spencer WILLS, who built "Bellevue" as a model farm.  Bellevue was also the home of Tom Wentworth WILLS - recognised as the found of Australian Rules football.
