The following history of street names is reproduced from the Investigator with the kind permission of W. J. (Bill) Morrow and the Geelong Historical Society. Note : please remember that the Investigator began more than 30 years ago, therefore some names and buildings have since disappeared into history.
Buckley Grove | This street runs through Pleasant Bank Estate, Point Henry - Frank BUCKLEY was one of the auctioneers. An earlier owner of the property was William WALKER, of horse omnibus fame. |
Wills Crescent | Fittingly this crescent near "Bellevue" on the Geelong-Portarlington Road is named after Horatio Spencer WILLS, who built "Bellevue" as a model farm. Bellevue was also the home of Tom Wentworth WILLS - recognised as the found of Australian Rules football. |
