Make sure you look at the two Research Options on their website and most importantly follow the link to the GFHG Research Files Catalogue List to check for these or many more indexes and documents.

• Shire of Winchelsea Rate Books.  The details are available from the Winchelsea & District Historical Society or can be viewed in person in the WDHS rooms - see "More information?" below.
• The Rate Books are also available at the Geelong Heritage Centre.

• NAME: Name of occupier and/or owner
• DATE: Year of rate books
• PLACE: Parish where property is located
• COMMENT: Owner, occupier or both
• REFERENCE: Page number on which the entry appears for the relevant year

• 38,700 entries

NOTE: Indexes include all rate books to 1870-71 inclusive then approximately every 5 years have been indexed from 1875-76 to 1952-55
