About the Shire of Bellarine	Portarlington Road Board created 12 December 1853 Indented Head Road Board formed 29 October 1860 Shire proclaimed 18 September 1865 Rural City Council proclaimed 12 December 1989 Amalgamated into City of Greater Geelong 1993-94 The Shire Hall was located in High Street, Drysdale and is now the home of the Bellarine Historical Society and Old Court House Museum.
