Noted events in her life were: • Biography. Death of Mrs Stapleton - A very sad death occurred at the Dangar Cottage hospital on Tuesday the 4th inst. at 4 a.m.. When Mrs. Thomas Stapleton of Glendon Brook passed peacefully away at the age of 59 years. The deceased lady, was a native of Anambah but came to reside at Glendon Brook over 21 years ago. She was respected by everyone, her straight-forward and generous disposition making for her a large circle of friends. The deceased had been ailing for the past three years, and for the past twelve months had been confined to her bed. Through all her sufferings she bore up with the true christian fortitude until the end. The funeral took place on Wednesday and was very largely attended the remains being laid to rest in the Church of England portion of the Sedgefield cemetery, the Rev. C. Newton Mell, B.A. Officiating at the graveside. She leaves a sorrowing husband, one son, Mr. Charles Stapleton, and two daughters, Mrs. Woods and Miss Stapleton, to mourn their loss. Mary married Thomas Patrick STAPLETON, son of Thomas STAPLETON and Eliza MASTERS, on 9 Nov 1885 in West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia.1 (Thomas Patrick STAPLETON was born on 31 Jul 1861 in Paterson, New South Wales, Australia 4, baptised on 8 Jan 1862 in RC, Maitland, New South Wales, Australia,5 died on 17 Mar 1923 in Singleton, New South Wales, Australia and was buried in Sedgefield Cemetery, New South Wales, Australia.) |
