The following history of street names is reproduced from the Investigator with the kind permission of W. J. (Bill) Morrow and the Geelong Historical Society. Note : please remember that the Investigator began more than 30 years ago, therefore some names and buildings have since disappeared into history.
The origins of some of the Clifton Springs street names [were] nominated by or on behalf of the subdividers, Willmore and Randall, and as they appeared on subdivisional sale posters displayed at the Drysdale Courthouse, the home of the Bellarine Historical Society. The sale posters provided the suggested meanings of the selected Aboriginal names and the states of origin of such names.
